Czech Glass Bird Beads, Purple with Rainbow Volcano Wash (22x11mm, Set of 2)

These sweet little bird beads are a proper favourite here. Each one is a solid 22mm of Czech glass in a deep plum purple, coated with a rainbow volcano wash that shifts and shimmers depending on the light. You get two per set, which makes them ideal for a matching pair of earrings, or you can use them as focal points on either side of a bracelet or necklace.

The volcano finish gives them a slightly rustic, bohemian feel without being too rough or dark. They sit beautifully alongside other purple or jewel-toned beads, and the iridescent wash means they pick up warmer tones too, so they work well with copper or bronze findings.

These are handmade by artisan glassworkers in the Czech Republic, so there may be the tiniest variations between each bead. That is part of what makes them charming rather than mass-produced. A really versatile little bead that tends to inspire people the moment they hold one.
